The Complete URL-to-Video Workflow: From Blog to Viral

Share:

You have a blog post, a product page, or an article that drives traffic and converts readers. Now imagine turning that same content into a short-form video that reaches an entirely new audience on TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. That is exactly what the URL-to-video workflow does. In this guide, we walk through the entire process from start to finish — from pasting your URL to exporting a polished, share-ready video. Whether you are repurposing a single blog post or scaling your content production, this workflow saves hours of manual work.

Step 1: Paste Your URL

Open PromoFlux and select the "From URL" input mode. Paste the full URL of the page you want to convert. This works with blog posts, product pages, landing pages, documentation pages, and most content-heavy websites. PromoFlux's content extraction engine reads the page structure and identifies the key elements: the headline, subheadings, body text, key phrases, and any calls-to-action. The extraction typically takes two to three seconds.

Step 2: Review the Extracted Content

After extraction, PromoFlux presents a summary of the content it found. Review this summary to make sure it captured the right information. You can manually edit the extracted content at this stage — remove sections that are not relevant, reorder points for better narrative flow, or add context that the page did not include. This step is optional but highly recommended for pages with complex structures or mixed content types.

Step 3: Generate the Script

Click "Generate Script" and PromoFlux's AI engine transforms the extracted content into a short-form video script. The script follows a proven structure: a hook derived from the most compelling element of the page, a body that covers the key takeaways, and a closing CTA that matches the page's goal. The generated script is typically 100 to 200 words — ideal for a 30-to-60-second video. Review the script and make any adjustments. This is where your creative input makes the biggest difference.

Step 4: Build Your Scenes

PromoFlux automatically breaks the script into individual scenes and suggests stock footage for each one. Browse through the scenes and customize them. You can swap stock clips, adjust text positioning, change fonts and colors, and add or remove scenes. Pay special attention to the opening scene — it needs to be visually striking to stop the scroll. If the AI suggests a clip that does not quite fit, use the stock footage browser to find a better match. Every element should reinforce the message of that scene.

Step 5: Add Voiceover

Choose from PromoFlux's built-in AI voiceover options or record your own. AI voiceover is ideal for consistency and speed — you can generate a professional narration in seconds without any recording equipment. If you prefer a personal touch, record your own audio directly in the browser. PromoFlux will sync the audio to the scene timings automatically. Preview the full video with audio to make sure the pacing feels natural.

Step 6: Preview and Fine-Tune

Watch the entire video from start to finish. Check for three things: pacing, readability, and flow. Pacing means the video does not feel too fast or too slow — each scene should have enough time for the viewer to absorb the message. Readability means all text is large enough and high-contrast enough for mobile viewing. Flow means the transitions between scenes feel smooth and the narrative builds logically from hook to CTA. Make adjustments as needed.

Step 7: Export and Publish

When you are happy with the final video, export it in the correct format for your target platform. PromoFlux offers presets for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts — each optimized for the right resolution, aspect ratio, and duration. Download the file and upload it directly to your platform of choice. Add a caption that includes relevant hashtags and a clear call-to-action pointing back to your original URL.

Tips for Maximum Impact

The URL-to-video workflow is powerful, but the results depend on the source material. Pages with clear headlines, structured content, and a single focused message produce the best videos. Avoid converting pages that are primarily navigation menus, pricing tables, or technical documentation — these formats do not translate well to short-form storytelling. Instead, focus on blog posts, how-to guides, product announcements, and educational content. The more focused the source page, the more compelling the resulting video.
